In order to be a sucsessful bussiness you have to be able to work in partnership with other companies.
An example of this is Hotels. hotels depend on tour operators to sell packages that include their hotel. If a hotel wasnt promoted by the tour operators they would get less business as they depend on places like Thomson and Thomas Cook to sell the rooms in their hotel.
Another example of this is Alton Towers. Alton Towers is a theme park that provide their own services with their rides but as people go their as a day or weekend trip they need to provide other services such as food and drink. They do this by buying certain companys and sponsoring them. These are companies like coca cola and burger king. this benifits both companies and they both make money and a profit with the amount of people that visit the theme park. In travel and tourism tour operators sell products and services through travel agents and also use tourist boards to promote new holidays etc. They depend on each other to be successful.
organisational aims..
All private limited companys like hotels and airlines have these aims;
• Make a profit
• Maximise sales revenue
• Increase market share
public and voluntary sectors like tourist boards have bigger aims as they have to provide a service for the public to help with there tourist needs, such as fair deals and correct information. people such as ABTA and ATOL have to make sure a holiday runs smoothly and that if anything was to happen they would be able to provide a service in which will benifit the customers.
To provide products and services..
Most travel and tourism bussinesses have to deal with the public and make sure they are getting exactly what they want for their holiday so this means they may have to work with other businesses to provide this service such as a car hire company, as they could include it into their packages which will benifit the customer and also the businesses.
To be responsible to stakeholders..
All public limited companies have a responsibility to the people who have shares into their company which means that they have to post their statistics for anyone who wants to find out how there shares are doing within the company.
To be environmentally and ethnically responsible..
Most companies are environmentally friendly as they are part of sustainable tourism. this means they try to minimise a negative economy, improve working conditions for local people and make sure their decissions does not affect the local people and the way they live. They also make sure that they are contributing towards conservating the natural and cultural herritage.
